Social Media Team Leader – Robert Jurewicz
Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background!
Hi. My name is Robert and I am a Social Media Specialist here at Genuin. My academic background is in psychology and statistics which might seem like an odd mix. I have previously worked at the publisher side of things, most recently for Facebook in ad sales. I’m born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, with two Polish parents so I also speak Polish and recently had the opportunity to show our team around Warsaw a bit.
How would you describe the social media team and what you do in a typical day?
I would describe our social media team as highly dynamic. Everyone is very ambitious and engaged and there are a million ideas flying around every day. The biggest challenge is actually writing down all of those great ideas and evaluating them. Because we are quite flexible and dynamic it’s hard to actually describe a typical day but every day involves closely monitoring the performance of all running campaigns, try to optimize them and evaluating a lot of data from previous campaigns.
What excites you the most about social media?
For me, social media is a great combination of putting my analytical skills to work as well as being somewhat creative. Normally, I wouldn’t describe myself as a very creative person but social media marketing really provides a great framework for coming up with creative ideas, after all it’s just human communication.
How do you predict the online marketing industry to develop within the next couple of years?
I think the online marketing industry is going to develop into being even more data driven. Everyone right now loves to talk about how they are so data driven but I think there is a lot of room for improvement there and we have only just scratched the surface. A lot of advertisers are now accumulating huge amounts of data but the analysis of that data is much harder to make sense of.
Tell us something unexpected about yourself!
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t like bacon.
